Dhaka, Bangladesh – April 13, 2025: Filing a General Diary (GD) with the police is becoming much easier. Bangladesh Police is launching a new system. Soon, you will be able to file all types of GDs from your home using the internet.
Previously, the Online GD system only allowed reports about lost or found items. But now, based on the Chief Advisor’s guidance, the police are making the service bigger. The aim is to reduce hassle for people. It also increases the use of technology for citizen services. This means you can report many different kinds of incidents online soon.
When and Where Does it Start?

- All police stations under the Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP).
- All police stations in the Chandpur District.
After this test phase, the police plan to make this service available in all police stations across Bangladesh. They will roll it out step-by-step.
