Srabosti Dutta Tinni: Once a Shining Star

Srabosti Dutta Tinni was a very popular actress and model in Bangladesh. She started her journey in the entertainment world in 2002. She won the Anondodhara Photo Sundori title that year.

In 2004, she became famous for her role as Deepa in the drama series ‘69’. Mostofa Sarwar Farooki directed this drama. The next year, she became a star overnight. She modeled for a beauty soap directed by the same person.

After that, Tinni did not have to look back. She worked in many popular dramas until 2010. Some of her famous dramas include ‘Opekkha’, ‘Neel Kuyasha’, ‘Sukher Osukh’, and ‘Brishti Tomake Dilam’. She also acted in movies. Her first film was ‘Made in Bangladesh’ by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki. She also acted in ‘Dubshatar’ by Nurul Alam Atik.

Once, she also acted in a mainstream commercial film with Shakib Khan. After this movie, Dhallywood also accepted Tinni.

However, due to an uncontrolled lifestyle, Tinni stepped away from popularity. She was a very popular actress on small screens about a decade ago. Now, she lives far away in Canada, in the city of Montreal.

Since October 2017, Srabosti Dutta Tinni has been living with her daughter Warisha. Many people wonder how she is doing there and what her life is like now.

Recently, Tinni gave an interview to a media outlet. She said that she is doing well with her daughter Warisha.

The actress said that life in Canada is very different from life in Bangladesh. She used to work, move around, eat, and live as she liked in the media. But life here is tough. She has to wake up at 6 am to get ready and take the train to the office. She returns home around 7 or 8 pm. Then, she has to do her own household work. She misses her house help from Dhaka a lot.

When asked about returning to the country, Tinni said that it has been a long time since she came to Canada. She has also received citizenship here. She wants to go back to Bangladesh when it is a good time. Let’s see what happens.

After moving abroad, Tinni has not worked in the entertainment industry. However, she watches dramas, web series, and films of her favorite colleagues from Bangladesh. The actress said that she enjoyed watching the drama ‘Bachelor Point’ a lot. She also watches dramas starring Apurba and Nisho. Besides this, she has watched web series like ‘Karagar’, ‘Mahanagar’, and ‘Floor Number 7’ on OTT platforms. She thinks Chanchal Chowdhury’s acting in ‘Karagar’ was amazing. She misses the days when she used to work with these people. Tinni said that she misses her co-artists, audience, and fans, and it makes her sad.

Tinni expressed her regret and sighed. She said that when she sees everyone acting, she thinks that everyone is there, but she is not. She feels that she should have worked for many more years. While watching them act, she sometimes imagines herself back in front of the camera in Bangladesh. She worked with everyone for a long time. Their relationship was like a family. There was so much warmth among them. She misses the audience and fans a lot, and it makes her heart ache.

Remembering her growing up city of Dhaka, Tinni also said that there are no rickshaws here. She misses riding rickshaws in Dhaka and eating fuchka on the streets.

Many of her colleagues say that Tinni is responsible for her current situation. Back in 2006, Tinni was very popular on small screens. She married her co-artist Hillol, whom she loved. After some time, they had a daughter named Warisha. Her acting career, family, and child were going well. Capitalizing on her popularity on small screens, director Sohanur Rahman Sohan offered Tinni the role of the heroine opposite Shakib Khan in his film ‘Se Amar Mon Kereche’ in 2010. Sohan had a good reputation for introducing new heroes and heroines in Dhallywood. Tinni readily agreed.

The actress said that she addressed Sohanur Rahman Sohan as her father from their first meeting. The meeting took place at a restaurant in Uttara. She liked the story. Sohan Baba told her that she was very popular on small screens, and Shakib was popular on big screens. So, they would look good together. Her character would be written accordingly in the story, so she did not need to worry. He also said that she was the director’s artist, not the producer’s, and she should work with her head held high. At that time, many people looked down on acting in commercial films. Tinni was also worried about this. However, she started working, trusting Sohan Baba.

Tinni said that she had met Shakib Khan at various events before the film shoot, but they did not talk much. It was her first time working with Shakib, and she was worried about how easy it would be to work with him since she came from small screens. On the first day, they had a song shoot. But while shooting, it felt like Shakib had been her acquaintance for a long time. So, on the first day of work, she understood that there would be no problems, and they would be able to do good work.

The actress said that many people say many things about Shakib Khan. But her experience working with him was very good. She never felt like she was an artist from small screens while working with him. She was impressed by his behavior. He always spoke in a low voice. He seemed very sincere during work.

After her first film was released in 2012, there was a lot of talk about Tinni. Several directors planned to work with her. But around that time, she got divorced from Hillol. After that, Tinni’s uncontrolled life began. Gradually, she started to drift away from work. Tinni said that she could not focus on her work properly due to her divorce with Hillol and some other reasons at that time. She also admitted that she was partly to blame for some work-related issues. As a result, she had to fall behind. She feels that the media is a very sensitive place, and once someone goes off track, it is difficult to get back on track. She understands this deeply now.
