This preliminary decision was reached during a high-level meeting of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee held on Sunday, March 29, at the Ministry of Education.
While earlier estimates suggested a late June start, the board chairpersons have reached a consensus on the June 7 date to streamline the academic calendar. The proposed schedule is currently awaiting the final signature of the Education Minister, Dr. A N M Ehsanul Haque Milon. Once approved, the official subject-wise routine will be published on all board websites.
Major Updates for 2026 Candidates
This year brings several key changes that students and educators should note:
- Uniform Question Papers: For the first time, all nine general education boards will use a common set of question papers, joining the Madrasah and Technical boards in this unified approach.
- Full Syllabus: Unlike the previous few years which saw “short syllabuses” due to pandemic recovery, the 2026 examinations will be conducted under the full syllabus for all subjects.
- Form Fill-up: The process for form fill-up officially commenced on March 1, 2026, and is currently ongoing.

- Practical Exams: To be held immediately following the written assessments.

Exams will continue to be held in two shifts to manage the large candidate pool:
- Morning Shift: 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
- Afternoon Shift: 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Candidates are reminded that they must be seated in the examination hall at least 30 minutes before the exam starts.
