Dhaka, Bangladesh – The initial admission process for the 2024-25 academic year at 19 public universities under the General, Science, and Technology (GST) cluster is set to begin tomorrow, Sunday, June 22. This crucial first step for aspiring students will continue until Tuesday, June 25.
The GST admission committee has announced that the primary admission fee is BDT 5000. This fee must be paid online. The window for payment opens at 12:00 PM on June 22 and closes at 11:59 PM on June 25.
A key step in the GST Admission 2025 is the submission of original academic documents. Students must submit their original SSC and HSC (or equivalent) mark sheets. This can be done at any of the 19 participating universities. The submission period is from 10:00 AM on June 23 to 3:00 PM on June 26.
The admission committee has issued a strict warning. Students who fail to pay the fee and submit their original documents within the given time will have their initial admission cancelled. Such candidates will lose their eligibility for admission to any GST-affiliated university for the current year. This also includes any opportunities under quota systems.
Even if a student pays the BDT 5000 fee but does not submit the original mark sheets on time, their admission will be revoked. They will not be considered for future admission or any quota benefits in the GST system.
Students wishing to cancel their initial admission must do so in person. They need to visit the university where they submitted their documents and file an application. It is important to note that cancelling the admission will make the student ineligible for any further admission opportunities within the GST universities.
The committee also clarified the migration rules. If a student chooses the “Stop All Migration” option, they will be permanently placed in their current department. They will not be able to migrate to any other department or university.
Alternatively, if a student selects “Stop University Migration,” they will only be eligible for migration to other departments within their currently assigned university, based on their preference list. They will not be considered for admission to any other university in the cluster.
For more detailed information, applicants are advised to visit the official GST Admission System website. An “Online Admission Guideline” will also be available on the website soon to assist students with the process.
