Gold Price in Bangladesh Increased Again

The price of gold has increased once more in the Bangladeshi market, reaching another unprecedented high and impacting consumers nationwide. This latest adjustment marks a continued upward trend in bullion costs.

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced the new prices in a press release on Wednesday, April 16th, 2025. The decision, according to the statement, was made to adjust prices due to the increase in the cost of pure gold (Tejabi gold) in the local market.

These new record prices will be effective across the country from Thursday, April 17th, 2025.

According to the latest rates announced by BAJUS:

  • One bhori (11.664 grams) of the highest quality 22-carat gold will now cost BDT 1,65,209. This represents an increase of BDT 3,033 per bhori from the most recent previous price (BDT 1,62,176).
  • 21-carat gold is now priced at BDT 1,57,697 per bhori.
  • 18-carat gold will cost BDT 1,35,174 per bhori.
  • Traditional method gold is set at BDT 1,11,659 per bhori.

While gold prices have soared again, the price of silver remains unchanged. BAJUS confirmed that silver prices were not affected by this latest adjustment.

Current silver prices per bhori remain:

  • 22-carat silver: BDT 2,578
  • 21-carat silver: BDT 2,449
  • 18-carat silver: BDT 2,111
  • Traditional method silver: BDT 1,586

Consumers planning to purchase gold should be aware of these new record-high prices effective from Thursday, April 17th, 2025.
