Dhaka, Bangladesh – April 27, 2025: The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) has postponed the 46th BCS Written Test 2025. The exams were scheduled to take place from May 8 to May 19, 2025.
The decision came after discussions with protesting students. Students had been holding protests, including a hunger strike at Dhaka University’s Raju Sculpture.
On Sunday, April 27, adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, spoke with the students. PSC representatives Mohammad Aminul Islam and Mohammad Nazmul Amin Majumdar were also present. After nearly five hours of talks, the adviser announced the postponement of the 46th BCS Written Test 2025.
Following the announcement, the students ended their hunger strike. However, student leaders stated that the postponement was not their main goal. They said their movement for wider reforms, based on eight specific demands, will continue. The protesting students have called for another gathering at Raju Sculpture on Monday afternoon.
Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan mentioned that the PSC would discuss necessary reforms with the students. He emphasized the need for cooperation to ensure transparency in future recruitment processes.
Previously, job seekers had been demanding the postponement of the 46th BCS Written Test 2025. They cited concerns about overlapping exam schedules and demanded a clear roadmap for ongoing BCS exams, including the timely publication of results for the 44th and 45th BCS. Students across different universities, including Bangladesh Agricultural University, had shown solidarity with the protests at Dhaka University.
The PSC is expected to announce a new schedule for the 46th BCS Written Test 2025 later. Candidates are advised to follow the official PSC website for updates.
