Dhaka, Bangladesh – April 13, 2025: The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) has officially announced the postponement of the 47th BCS Preliminary Test, setting a new date.

The exam was originally scheduled to take place on June 27th, 2025. According to an official notice released today, Sunday, April 13th, and signed by Sahida Khatun, the official handling public relations duties for the PSC, the new date for the 47th BCS Preliminary Test is August 8th, 2025. The decision to reschedule was made following demands from job seekers.

This announcement confirms earlier reports from Thursday, April 10th, where an unnamed PSC official indicated to The Daily Campus newspaper that the test would likely be moved to early August.

The recruitment process for the 47th BCS began in 2024 with the publication of the exam circular. This particular BCS aims to fill a large number of government positions. There are 3,487 posts available in various cadres. Additionally, 201 non-cadre positions are expected to be filled through this process.
