Dhaka, Bangladesh – The 48th BCS Preliminary Test 2025 will be held on July 18. The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) confirmed the date on Tuesday. The special exam will run for two hours, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
This special Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination aims to recruit 3,000 doctors. The government will appoint 2,700 assistant surgeons and 300 assistant dental surgeons through this process. The circular for this special BCS was published on May 29.
The preliminary test will have a total of 200 marks. A PSC official explained the exam format. The test will be divided into two main parts.
One hundred marks will be on Medical Science. The other one hundred marks will cover general subjects.
The general subjects section is broken down as follows:
- Bengali: 20 marks
- English: 20 marks
- Bangladesh Affairs: 20 marks
- International Affairs: 20 marks
- Mental Ability: 10 marks
- Mathematical Reasoning: 10 marks
This recruitment drive is a significant step to strengthen the country’s healthcare sector by adding a large number of new doctors to the workforce. Candidates who pass the preliminary test will move on to the next stages of the selection process.
