Chittagong University 5th Convocation Scheduled for May 14, 2025

CHITTAGONG, March 18 – Chittagong University (CU) will hold its 5th convocation on Tuesday, May 14. This significant event for CU graduates was initially met with criticism regarding the participation of those who had already collected their original certificates. However, the university authorities have now reversed this decision.

The Acting Registrar, Professor Dr. Mohammad Saiful Islam, had previously announced the convocation on Saturday, March 15th, with an initial notice stating that graduates who had already received their original certificates would not be eligible to participate. This decision sparked widespread criticism among current and former students across various platforms.

Responding to the concerns, the university administration has decided to allow graduates who have already collected their certificates to attend the 5th convocation. This decision was confirmed today, Tuesday, March 18th, during a meeting of the fifth convocation committee, as stated by the Acting Controller of Examinations, Professor Dr. Enayet Ullah Patwari.

Professor Dr. Enayet Ullah Patwari informed that graduates who collected their certificates between 2011 and 2023 are now eligible to participate in the convocation. They can apply online from April 1st to April 7th. During the application process, they will need to upload a copy of their collected certificate and pay a fee of 2,500 Taka.
