The written exam for undergraduate admission for the 2024-25 academic year was held on Thursday, February 13, 2025. A total of 7,467 students appeared in the exam out of 7,552 selected candidates. This means about 98.87% of selected students took part in the written test.
The BUET admission test was conducted in two shifts on the BUET campus. The first shift was from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and the second shift was from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM.
University officials said that the student attendance in this year’s admission test was very good compared to the last few years. They mentioned that a record number of students participated in the main admission test this time.
According to a press release from the BUET Public Relations Department, the admission process was held in two stages: pre-selection and main admission test. Earlier, 24,211 students attended the pre-selection test on January 23.
From the pre-selection test results, 7,552 students were selected for the main written admission test. These selected students were divided into three shifts for the written exam.
The university said that the written exam was completed with a record number of students present. Out of 7,552 selected students, 7,467 students attended the main exam. In most exam halls, almost all students were present.
To avoid any disturbance for the students, the Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Abu Borhan Mohammad Badruzzaman, and Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Abdul Hasib Chowdhury did not enter any exam rooms during the test. However, they talked to the teachers in charge and monitored the overall situation.
This year, BUET will admit students in 13 departments under five faculties. There are 1,309 seats available in total. There are also reserved seats for students from Chattogram Hill Tracts and other minority groups in engineering departments and Urban and Regional Planning and Architecture departments.
The BUET Written Result 2025 is expected to be published by February 26, 2025. Students are advised to keep an eye on the official BUET website for the result and further updates.
