Rajshahi, Bangladesh – April 19, 2025: Rajshahi University has finished the first shift of its ‘A’ unit admission test today. The test was for the 2024-25 academic year first-year honours program. The first shift started at 11:00 AM. It ended at 12:00 PM.
A second shift for the ‘A’ unit test is planned for today. It will run from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM.
Many students want to study at Rajshahi University. This year, 96,162 students applied for the ‘A’ unit. There are only 1,872 seats available in this unit. This means about 51 students are competing for each seat.
Students and their parents started arriving early this morning. They gathered near the exam centers before 10:00 AM. Students entered the exam halls around 10:30 AM. Strict rules were followed. No calculators were allowed inside. Mobile phones were also banned. Bluetooth devices and other electronic items with memory were not permitted.
The ‘A’ unit seats are spread across different departments. There are 886 seats in the Faculty of Arts. The Faculty of Social Science has 656 seats. The Faculty of Law offers 160 seats. The Faculty of Fine Arts has 120 seats. The Institute of Education and Research has 50 seats.
The university took security very seriously. Professor Md. Mahbubur Rahman, the University Proctor, said they are working hard to prevent cheating. Many security people are helping. This includes 70 traffic members and 150 police officers. There are also 30 detective police officers. Around 200 BNCC and Scout members are helping too.
The university also arranged facilities for parents. Mobile toilets were available. Proctors watched food areas to avoid problems. Ambulances and first aid services were ready for emergencies.
The admission test season started on April 12 with the ‘B’ unit exam. It will end on April 26 with the ‘C’ unit exam. This year, the tests are held in Rajshahi and four other cities: Dhaka, Chattogram, Khulna, and Rangpur.
Students who took the ‘A’ unit test today are now waiting. They are eager to see the RU A Unit Result 2025. The results for the ‘A’ unit, and later the ‘C’ unit, will be published by the university after the exams are completed and checked.
