SUST Result 2025: Duplicate Roll Numbers Removed After Inconsistencies Reported

The Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST) has addressed inconsistencies in the recently announced admission test results for the 2024-25 academic year. While the initially published SUST Result 2025 was not revised, the university authorities have taken action to rectify issues by removing duplicate roll numbers from the merit list. This announcement was made via a notice on the university’s admission website.

According to the website notice, no corrections have been made to the originally published SUST Result 2025. However, it was found that in the merit list for the A-1 unit, some student roll numbers were duplicated alongside the 12,000 listed candidates. The updated, or “revised,” list now excludes these duplicate roll numbers.

The initial SUST Result 2025 was released on Sunday evening, March 9, 2025. Following its publication, aspiring candidates raised concerns about irregularities in the result preparation and publication. Students reported instances where individual results were published multiple times. In one instance, inconsistencies were found in the results of 11 individuals within a single page of the PDF document.

Some students found their SUST Result 2025 appearing as many as three times. Candidates voiced their concerns about these significant discrepancies, suggesting that numerous such errors might exist throughout the published results. Prior to this, an applicant had also pointed out inconsistencies related to the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) results used in the result preparation process.

These errors raised anxieties among prospective students and parents, who feared that such inaccuracies could negatively impact their actual scores in the admission test. Concerns were voiced that these data errors could lead to under or overestimation of candidates’ marks. The university admission committee initially attributed the inconsistencies to a delay in data updates from টেলিটক (Teletalk), a state-owned telecommunications company, which caused errors in the result preparation.

Professor Md. Masum, head of the university’s admission test technical committee, stated that the data displayed on their site was directly from Teletalk. However, he assured that all technical issues were resolved on the day of the result publication, ensuring no problems for students accessing their SUST Result 2025.

Professor Badiuzzaman Faruque, President of the Admission Test Committee, indicated limited involvement in the matter, directing queries to the Member Secretary of the Admission Committee. Despite attempts, the Member Secretary of the Admission Test, Professor Dr. Rafiqul Islam, could not be reached for comment.
