Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) has released the first list of admitted students for the 2024-25 academic year. This announcement was made on Wednesday night, March 19th, on the RUET admission website. Professor Dr. Md. Rabiul Islam, the head of the admission test committee, signed the notice.
In this first phase, 738 students have been selected for admission. However, there are still 462 seats vacant in various departments. This means that after the first round of admissions, a significant number of seats, more than one-third, remain unfilled.
The admitted students must confirm their admission by paying the admission fee of Tk 18,500. They need to deposit this fee through a bank today, Thursday, March 20th, during banking hours. If any student fails to pay the fee within this deadline, their admission will be cancelled.
The notice from RUET stated that the list of admitted students was prepared based on their merit scores and their preferred choice of departments.
This year, RUET is conducting its admission test independently after a gap since the 2019-20 session.
RUET has a total of 1,230 general seats available in 14 departments under three faculties: Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electronic and Computer Engineering. Additionally, there are 5 reserved seats for students from the Chittagong Hill Tracts and other small ethnic communities. Therefore, the total number of seats for admission this year is 1,235.
This information is crucial for the students who have been selected in the first phase. They must complete the fee payment process today to secure their place at RUET. The large number of vacant seats also suggests that there might be further admission opportunities for other eligible candidates in the future.
