Nursing Admission 2025: Application Deadline Extended, Exam Date Changed

The application deadline for the Nursing Admission 2025 session has been extended. This applies to all government, autonomous (military-civilian), and private nursing and midwifery educational institutions. Along with the extension, the examination date has also been changed.

Students who wish to enroll in the 4-year Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc in Nursing), the 3-year Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery, and the 3-year Diploma in Midwifery courses can now apply within the new timeframe.

Revised Application Schedule

The initial deadline for online application was March 19, 2025. However, according to a recent announcement on March 17, the deadline has been extended. Now, interested candidates can apply online until April 6, 2025, at 11:59 PM. The last date for submitting the online application fee is April 7, 2025, at 11:59 PM.

New Examination Date

The admission test, which was previously scheduled, has also been rescheduled. The new date for the entrance examination is May 16, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for Nursing Admission 2025, candidates must meet the following conditions:

  • Must be a permanent citizen of Bangladesh.
  • Must have passed SSC/equivalent examination in 2020, 2021, or 2022 and HSC/equivalent examination in 2022, 2023, or 2024.
  • The gap between the SSC and HSC examinations should not be more than 3 years.

Specific Requirements for Different Courses:

(a) Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc in Nursing) – 4 years:

  • Candidates must have passed SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examinations with a science background.
  • A minimum total GPA of 7.00 is required in both examinations.
  • No individual GPA should be less than 3.00.
  • Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 2.50 in Biology in the HSC/equivalent examination.
  • In government institutions, 10% of the seats are reserved for male candidates.
  • In private institutions, a maximum of 20% male candidates can be admitted.

(b) Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery & Diploma in Midwifery – 3 years:

  • Candidates must have passed SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examinations in any discipline.
  • A minimum total GPA of 6.00 is required in both examinations.
  • No individual GPA should be less than 2.50 in either examination.
  • Only female candidates are eligible to apply for the Diploma in Midwifery course.
  • In government institutions for the Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery course, 10% of the seats are reserved for male candidates.
  • In private institutions for the Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery course, a maximum of 20% male candidates can be admitted.

Examination Details

The admission test will be conducted in MCQ format for 100 marks with a duration of 1 hour. Separate question papers will be provided for BSc and Diploma courses.

(a) BSc in Nursing:

  • Bengali: 20 marks
  • English: 20 marks
  • Mathematics: 10 marks
  • Science (Biology, Physics, and Chemistry): 40 marks
  • General Knowledge: 10 marks

(b) Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery & Diploma in Midwifery:

  • Bengali: 20 marks
  • English: 20 marks
  • General Mathematics: 10 marks
  • General Science: 30 marks
  • General Knowledge: 20 marks

Candidate Selection Process

Candidates will be selected based on their GPA in SSC/equivalent and HSC/equivalent examinations, as well as their scores in the MCQ examination. The total marks for selection will be 150, calculated as follows:

  • GPA in SSC/equivalent × 5 = 25 marks (maximum)
  • GPA in HSC/equivalent × 5 = 25 marks (maximum)
  • MCQ Examination: 100 marks

Candidates scoring 40 or more in the MCQ examination will be considered qualified. Selection will be based on national merit. For admission in government institutions, candidates will be allocated seats based on their merit rank in the admission test and their preferred choice of institution. For private institutions, the governing body/managing committee will approve admissions based on the merit list of qualified candidates.

Application Fee

The application fee for the BSc in Nursing course is Tk 700/-. For the Diploma in Nursing Science and Midwifery and Diploma in Midwifery courses, the application fee is Tk 500/-. The fee must be paid through TeleTalk prepaid mobile. The application will be considered complete only after the online fee payment is successful.

Information for Reserved Seats

For reserved seats, including freedom fighters and ethnic minorities, the latest government regulations will be applicable on the day of the admission test. However, if suitable candidates are not found in the reserved categories, students will be admitted based on the general merit list.
