Dhaka, Bangladesh – The 6th Gonobiggopti, or mass circular, for the recruitment of teachers in private educational institutions is expected to be published by the Non-Government Teachers’ Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) on June 16, 2025. Aspiring teachers may be able to start submitting their applications from June 22, 2025.
This announcement comes as a significant development for thousands of candidates who have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to apply for teaching positions in non-government schools, colleges, and madrasas across the country. An official from the NTRCA, who wished to remain anonymous, confirmed that the draft for the 6th Gonobiggopti is ready and is likely to be released shortly after the upcoming Eid holidays, provided there are no technical issues.
Strict Age Limit of 35 to be Enforced
A key point for all applicants is the strict enforcement of the age limit. Candidates who are over 35 years of age will not be eligible to apply for positions in the upcoming recruitment cycle. This rule will also apply to those who have recently passed the 18th teacher registration examination.
Furthermore, registration certificates that are more than three years old will not be considered valid for application. NTRCA Secretary A M M Rizwanul Haque stated, “The policy regarding the age limit of 35 for teacher recruitment in private educational institutions is clearly defined. We do not have the authority to go beyond the existing MPO (Monthly Pay Order) policy.”
18th Teacher Registration Results Published
The NTRCA recently published the final results of the 18th teacher registration examination. Out of 81,209 candidates who participated in the oral examination, 60,521 have successfully passed. The written examinations for the 18th registration were held on July 12 and 13, 2024.
Sources within the NTRCA have indicated that the pass rate in the 18th registration was lower than in previous years. This has been attributed to a more rigorous oral examination process and the exclusion of candidates who exceeded the age limit of 35. An official mentioned that the examination board focused on the fundamental knowledge of the candidates to ensure that only those with the minimum required qualifications to be effective in a classroom setting were passed. Many candidates reportedly struggled to answer very basic questions during the viva voce.
The initial preliminary examination for the 18th teacher registration saw a massive turnout, with 1.9 million applicants. From this large pool, 83,865 candidates qualified for the written tests. The final list of successful candidates has now paved the way for their participation in the upcoming 6th Gonobiggopti, provided they meet all the eligibility criteria, including the crucial age limit.
