DHAKA, Bangladesh – The Armed Forces Medical Institute (AFMI) has announced the admission notice for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc in Nursing) program for the 2024-2025 academic year. This is for the 17th batch of the four-year program.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the AFMI Nursing Admission 2025, applicants must meet specific criteria.
- Applicants must be permanent citizens of Bangladesh.
- The age limit for applicants is 17 to 22 years as of July 1, 2024.
- Candidates should have passed SSC or equivalent exams in 2020, 2021, or 2022.
- HSC or equivalent exams should be passed in 2022, 2023, or 2024 with a science background.
- A minimum combined GPA of 7.00 in SSC and HSC exams is required.
- No individual GPA should be below 3.00.
- A minimum GPA of 3.00 in Biology at the HSC level is necessary.
- O-Level/A-Level candidates need to get an Equivalent Certificate with GPA conversion from the respective education board.
- Female candidates must have a minimum height of 1.55 meters (5 feet 1 inch).
- The minimum weight requirement is 39.92 kg (88 pounds).
- Chest measurements should be a minimum of 66.04 cm (26 inches) in a normal state.
- Chest measurements should be a minimum of 71.12 cm (28 inches) in an expanded state.
- Applicants must be unmarried. They must remain unmarried until the course is completed.
Application Process
The application process for AFMI Nursing Admission 2025 is primarily online.
- Online applications are accepted from March 16, 2025, to April 17, 2025.
- The application website is https://www.afmibd.net. The detailed application procedure is available on the AFMI website.
- If there are online application problems, candidates can apply in person at AFMI.
- Admit cards can be collected from April 20, 2025, to April 30, 2025, from the AFMI website.
- The application fee is 700.00 taka. This fee is non-refundable.
Written Exam
The admission test will include a written examination.
- The written test will be held on May 2, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
- The test will be at Shahid Bir Bikram Ramiz Uddin Cantonment School, Dhaka Cantonment. The written exam will be for 100 marks and will be MCQ-based.
- A shortlist for medical and oral exams will be made from the written test scores.
Final Merit List
The final merit list will be prepared based on several factors.
- SSC GPA will be multiplied by 5.
- HSC GPA will also be multiplied by 5.
- The scores from the written and oral exams will be added to these values.
- The latest government rules for freedom fighter and minority quotas will be followed. If there are not enough suitable candidates for reserved seats, students will be admitted from the general merit list.
Facilities and Rules During Training
AFMI provides several facilities during the training period.
- Free accommodation is available at the AFMI residence.
- Free food is provided by AFMI.
- Trainees must follow the dress code.
- Trainees must adhere to the rules of the Bangladesh Nursing Council, Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), and AFMI.
- Trainees cannot enroll in any other educational institution during the training.
Online Application Instructions
The online application process involves several steps:
- Step 1: Go to the AFMI website and click on the admission option. Register by providing your name, email, and mobile number.
- Step 2: After registration, log in using your registered mobile number and the OTP code. Your profile will then be displayed.
- Step 3: Click on the admission option again. Select “Course for Nurses” and then “BSc in Nursing”. Fill in your personal information.
- Step 4: Fill in your present and permanent address.
- Step 5: Provide guardian information.
- Step 6: Enter your educational qualifications.
- Step 7: Upload your passport-size photo, signature, SSC marksheet, HSC marksheet, nationality certificate, birth certificate, and freedom fighter certificate (if applicable). The maximum size for each upload is 512 KB.
- Step 8: Accept the terms and conditions. You can print/download the applicant copy.
- Step 9: Proceed to the payment stage. Payment can be made using a debit/credit card or mobile banking (bKash, Nagad, Upay, Rocket).
- Step 10: Admit cards can be downloaded from the student profile after logging in with the registered number on the AFMI website.
