School Admission Lottery Result 2025 Announced
DHAKA, December 17 – The results of the digital lottery for student admissions to government and private secondary schools for the 2025 academic year have been released. The announcement was made at an event held this morning at the International Mother Language Institute.
Professor Dr. M Aminul Islam, Special Assistant (with the status of State Minister) of the Ministry of Education, attended the event as the chief guest. Special guests included Siddique Zubair, Senior Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education; Dr. K M Kabirul Islam, Secretary of the Technical and Madrasah Education Division; and Nurul Mabud Chowdhury, Managing Director of Teletalk Bangladesh Limited. The event was chaired by Professor Md. Mozakkar Hossain Chowdhury, Director General (Routine Charge) of the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE).
It was announced at the event that online applications for admissions to 680 government and 3,198 private secondary schools under the DSHE were accepted from November 12 to November 31 for the 2025 academic year. In this process, 635,072 applications were submitted for a total of 108,716 vacant seats in 680 government schools across the country for admissions from first to ninth grade. For 3,198 private schools, 348,467 applications were received against a total of 1,007,673 vacant seats. The digital lottery method was used to allocate students to classes from these applications.
It was further stated that the government’s admission policy was followed in the lottery selection process. According to the policy, all quotas including general, catchment area, children of freedom fighters/martyred freedom fighters, disabled, government primary school, and disabled quotas were considered. The selection process was completed based on vacant seats and the candidate’s respective class, shift, and order of preference.
Students were automatically selected through a software-based random selection method in the digital online lottery program. The DSHE and the Bangladesh Computer Council directly supervised this digital online lottery process to ensure 100% transparency in the student selection process.
The results of the digital lottery will be available on the website https://gsa.teletalk.com.bd and via SMS on Teletalk mobile phones. To receive the result via SMS, users need to type GSA<Space> Result<Space>User ID and send it to 16222.
