The deadline for submitting online primary applications for the first-year Bachelor (Honors) program in colleges affiliated with the National University (NU) for the 2024-2025 academic year has been extended once more.
Extended Application Time
According to a recent notification from the university’s Public Relations, Information, and Consultation Department, interested students can now submit their online applications until 12:00 AM (midnight) on April 15, 2025.
This marks the second extension of the application period. Initially, applications opened on January 21, 2024, and were set to close on February 28, 2025. The deadline was first extended to March 20, 2025, and has now been further pushed to April 15, 2025.
Application Fee Payment
The primary application fee remains 700 Taka. Applicants must pay this fee by April 16, 2025, either directly to their chosen college or through mobile banking services designated by the college.
Marks Distribution for Admission Test
The previously announced marks distribution for the admission test remains in effect: The test will be worth a total of 100 marks, conducted in an MCQ (Multiple Choice Question) format. Students will have 1 hour to answer 100 questions. Separate question papers will be set for students from Science, Humanities & Home Economics, and Business Studies backgrounds.
The subject-wise marks distribution is as follows:
- Bengali: 20 marks
- English: 20 marks
- General Knowledge: 20 marks
- Subject-Based Questions: 40 marks (Based on HSC level subjects relevant to the chosen group)
- Total Marks: 100
Pass Marks
The minimum score required to pass the admission test is 35 out of 100.
Merit List Calculation
The final merit list will be calculated based on a total of 200 marks, combining scores from:
- Admission Test Score: Out of 100 marks.
- SSC GPA Score: 40% of the obtained GPA (including the 4th subject), scaled to a maximum of 40 marks (GPA * 8).
- HSC GPA Score: 60% of the obtained GPA (including the 4th subject), scaled to a maximum of 60 marks (GPA * 12).
Subject allocation will be done based on separate, subject-specific merit lists prepared for each college.
Admission Test Date
The admission test for the first-year honors courses is scheduled to be held on May 3, 2025.
