NU Admission 2025: Honours Test Result Published Today

Gazipur, Bangladesh – The National University (NU) has officially announced the results for its 2024-2025 academic session’s undergraduate (Honours) admission test. In a significant update for NU Admission 2025, the results are set to be published on Thursday, June 26, at 12 PM. This announcement came from the university’s public relations department through a press release on Wednesday afternoon.

To mark the occasion, a press conference will be held at the conference room of the ICT building on the National University’s Gazipur campus. The university’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. A. S. M. Amanullah, will preside over the event and officially release the results.

This year marks a significant shift for NU Admission 2025, as the university reintroduced the admission test system after an eight-year hiatus. The test was successfully conducted on Saturday, May 31, 2025. A total of 560,595 candidates participated in the examination, which was held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM across 879 centers in 64 district towns nationwide.

Breaking down the applicant numbers, 274,718 students appeared from the humanities group, 117,036 from the commerce group, and 168,841 from the science group. The MCQ-based test carried 100 marks. Aspirants needed to score at least 35 marks to pass, with one mark awarded for each correct answer and no penalty for incorrect answers.

The reintroduction of the admission test aims to enhance transparency and accountability in the selection process. This system was previously in place until the 2014-15 academic year, after which admissions were based on SSC and HSC GPAs. The online application process for this admission cycle commenced on January 21, 2025, and concluded on February 28, 2025.

During the examination day, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A. S. M. Amanullah had visited several examination centers, expressing satisfaction with the proceedings. “We are pleased to reintroduce the admission test at the National University after almost a decade,” he had remarked. “We believe this examination will ensure transparency and accountability.”

Students across Bangladesh are now eagerly awaiting the NU Admission 2025 results. The final merit list will be prepared based on a total of 200 marks. This will be calculated from the 100 marks of the MCQ admission test, combined with 40% of the SSC GPA (including the fourth subject) and 60% of the HSC GPA. The results will be available on the official admissions website (www.nu.ac.bd/admissions) and can also be checked via SMS.

According to the UGC’s latest annual report, the National University has 881 colleges offering undergraduate (Honours) courses, including 264 government and 617 private institutions, with 436,285 available seats in the 2022-23 academic year. For the upcoming admissions, a maximum of eight seats per subject may be reserved under various quotas, including three for children of freedom fighters, one for indigenous students, one for persons with disabilities, and three for a ward quota.
