Dhaka, Bangladesh – Bangladesh Railway has announced the schedule for Eid Train Ticket 2025. This is for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha. Eid-ul-Azha is likely on June 7 or June 8, 2025. This depends on the moon sighting.
Advance ticket sales will start on May 21, 2025. They will continue until May 27, 2025. These tickets are for train journeys from May 31 to June 6, 2025.
All Tickets Online: All advance tickets for intercity trains will be sold online. You will not need to stand in long lines at station counters. This decision was made at a recent meeting. Bangladesh Railway Director General Md. Afzal Hossain chaired the meeting.
When to Buy Your Eid Train Ticket 2025
- May 21 (Wednesday): Tickets for travel on May 31.
- May 22 (Thursday): Tickets for travel on June 1.
- May 23 (Friday): Tickets for travel on June 2.
- May 24 (Saturday): Tickets for travel on June 3.
- May 25 (Sunday): Tickets for travel on June 4.
- May 26 (Monday): Tickets for travel on June 5.
- May 27 (Tuesday): Tickets for travel on June 6.
Ticket Sale Timings: To make buying tickets easier, sales will be in two shifts.
- For trains going to the Western regions (Rajshahi, Rangpur, Khulna divisions): Sales start at 8:00 AM.
- For trains going to the Eastern regions (Dhaka, Sylhet, Chattogram divisions): Sales start at 2:00 PM.
Important Rules for Buying Tickets
- One person can buy tickets only once.
- You can buy a maximum of four tickets at a time.
- Remember, these advance Eid Train Ticket 2025 are non-refundable. So, plan your journey carefully.
Standing Tickets: For those who miss out on seats, there is an option. 25% standing tickets will be sold on the day of travel. These tickets must be bought from the station counters. They will not be available online.
Return Journey Tickets: Planning your trip back after Eid? The sale of return tickets will start on May 30, 2025. Here is the schedule for return tickets:
- May 30: For travel on June 9.
- May 31: For travel on June 10.
- June 1: For travel on June 11.
- June 2: For travel on June 12.
- June 3: For travel on June 13.
- June 4: For travel on June 14.
- June 5: For travel on June 15.
Special Eid Trains: Bangladesh Railway will run 10 special passenger trains for Eid. This will help manage the rush.
- The Teesta Special will run between Dhaka and Dewanganj Bazar from June 4 to June 6.
- The Chandpur Special will run on the Chattogram–Chandpur route from June 4 to June 6.
- Two Parbatipur Special trains will run from Joydebpur (Gazipur) to Parbatipur (Dinajpur) from June 4 to June 6.
- These special trains will make return journeys from June 9 to June 14.
- On Eid day, four special trains will go to Sholakia Eidgah from Bhairab and Mymensingh.
Also, three special cattle trains will operate to Dhaka. They will run on June 2 and June 3 from Dewanganj Bazar and Islampur in Jamalpur.
More Trains, More Seats: Around 43 intercity trains will leave Dhaka daily. This means over 33,000 advance tickets will be sold each day for journeys from Dhaka. From June 3 until the day before Eid, all intercity trains will run without their usual weekly holidays. Please note that no intercity trains will run on Eid day. A limited service will be available the day after Eid. Tickets for travel on June 7 and June 8 will depend on the sighting of the Eid moon.
