Bangladesh Railway has announced the date for advance train ticket sales for Eid-ul-Fitr in 2025. The sale will start from March 14, 2025.
This year, all Eid train tickets will be sold online only. No tickets will be available at counters. This online system is designed to make ticket purchasing easier for everyone.
Dates for Train Ticket Sales
Bangladesh Railway has set a schedule for when you can buy tickets for different travel dates:
- March 14: Tickets for March 24 travel
- March 15: Tickets for March 25 travel
- March 16: Tickets for March 26 travel
- March 17: Tickets for March 27 travel
- March 18: Tickets for March 28 travel
- March 19: Tickets for March 29 travel
- March 20: Tickets for March 30 travel
These advance tickets are for intercity trains. It is expected that Eid-ul-Fitr will be around April 1st, 2025.
Meeting to Finalize Details
A meeting was held by the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges to discuss making travel safe and smooth for Eid. In this meeting, the final decisions about train ticket sales were made. This includes the starting date and other important details.
Special Eid Trains
To handle the rush of passengers during Eid, Bangladesh Railway plans to operate five pairs (10 in total) of special trains on different routes. They are also working to add extra carriages to existing trains. This will increase the number of seats available for passengers. It is expected that there will be more than 35,000 seats this Eid.
Bus Ticket Updates
For bus travel, things are a bit different. Officially, there is no set date for bus ticket sales. However, big bus companies like Shohag Paribahan may start selling Eid tickets around mid-March. Many Bus companies now sell most of their tickets online, similar to the railway.
The government transport Organization, BRTC, will also start its special ‘Eid Special’ bus service from March 27. BRTC plans to sell advance tickets for these special buses from March 20. BRTC will operate more than 800 buses on different routes for Eid.
