Dhaka, Bangladesh – The National University (NU) has officially announced that the NU Honours Admission Result 2025 for the first-year undergraduate (honours) program will be published on Thursday, June 26, at 12:00 PM. The confirmation came through a press release issued by the university’s public relations department on Wednesday afternoon.
Marking a significant shift in its admission policy, the university has brought back the entrance examination after an eight-year interval. To officially announce the results, a press conference has been scheduled at the conference room of the ICT building on the Gazipur campus. The event will be presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of the National University, Professor Dr. A S M Amanullah.
This year’s admission process reintroduced an MCQ-based entrance test, a system last used in the 2014-15 academic session. For the past eight years, starting from the 2015-16 session, student admissions were based on their GPA scores from the SSC and HSC examinations.
The one-hour admission test consisted of a 100-mark paper with a pass mark of 35. A key feature of the test was that there would be no deduction of marks for incorrect answers. The final merit list will be calculated based on a total of 200 marks. This score will be a combination of the marks obtained in the MCQ test, along with 40% of the SSC GPA (including the 4th subject) and 60% of the HSC GPA.
According to the latest annual report from the UGC, National University offers undergraduate (honours) courses in 881 affiliated colleges, comprising 264 government and 617 private institutions. In the 2022-23 academic year, there were 436,285 seats available for first-year honours admission.
