Comilla University will hold its second convocation in November 2025. The Vice-Chancellor of Comilla University, Professor Dr. Md. Haidar Ali, confirmed this today. A meeting was held on Sunday, May 18, to discuss the convocation arrangements. At this meeting, it was decided to hold the event in the middle of November.
The Vice-Chancellor had first announced the second convocation for February 2025. He made this announcement on November 20, 2023, during the fresher’s reception for the 2023-24 students.
However, students protested against the university leaving the cluster admission system again. They also protested against the cancellation of the dependent quota. Following these protests, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Haidar Ali met with the students.
During these discussions, it was decided to delay the convocation to September. This was because the university would hold its own admission test separately. The Pro-Vice-Chancellor was given the task of planning the convocation.
Later, another decision was made to move the convocation from September to November. Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Haidar Ali explained the reason for this change. He said that the convocation ceremony takes place around noon. September is a very hot month. So, after talking it over, they decided to change the date from September to November.
