Mustafizur Rahman in Delhi Capitals Playing XI Today

Dhaka, Bangladesh – Star Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman is set to play for the Delhi Capitals tonight in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He has been named in the playing eleven for their match against Gujarat Titans. The match is scheduled to start at 8 PM Bangladesh time at Delhi’s home ground.

This comes after Mustafizur flew to India following an impressive performance for Bangladesh. He bowled brilliantly in the death overs during the first T20 International against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Saturday, May 17. His excellent spell helped Bangladesh secure a 27-run victory. However, due to his IPL commitments, Bangladesh will not have his services for the remaining match in the UAE series.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) granted Mustafizur a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to participate in the IPL. The NOC allows him to play from May 18 to May 24, 2025. This means he will be available for Delhi Capitals’ remaining league matches during this period. He will not be available for the IPL playoffs if his team qualifies and the matches are after May 24th. He joined the Delhi team as a replacement for Australian cricketer Jake Fraser-McGurk.

The IPL has resumed recently. It was paused for over a week due to tensions between India and Pakistan.

There was some initial uncertainty regarding Mustafizur’s NOC for the IPL. However, the BCB officially cleared his participation.

Following this short stint in the IPL, Mustafizur is expected to rejoin the Bangladesh national team. Bangladesh is scheduled for a T20 International series against Pakistan starting May 25.

Fans will be eagerly watching “The Fizz” tonight as he takes the field for the Delhi Capitals. His unique bowling skills are a valuable asset, and his inclusion in today’s match is immediate good news for his supporters.
