Comilla, Bangladesh – April 19, 2025: Comilla University has started its undergraduate admission tests for the 2024-2025 academic year today. This year is special. The university is holding its own exams after four years. It left the cluster (Guccha) admission system. Students and officials are now looking forward to the Comilla University Result 2025.
The admission tests are happening in three units: A, B, and C. The ‘C’ unit test was held this morning, Saturday, April 19th. The ‘A’ unit test will happen this afternoon at 3 PM. The ‘B’ unit test is scheduled for April 25th at 4 PM. University officials confirmed that all preparations are complete for smooth exams.
Competition for seats is very high this year. There are 1,030 seats available across the three units. A total of 66,402 students have applied. This means about 64 students are competing for each single seat.
Here is the breakdown by unit:
- ‘A’ Unit (Science): 350 seats. 32,658 applicants. About 93 students per seat.
- ‘C’ Unit (Business Studies): 240 seats. 9,952 applicants. About 41 students per seat.
- ‘B’ Unit (Arts, Humanities, Social Science, Law): 440 seats. 23,792 applicants. About 54 students per seat. The test is on April 25th.
Exams are being held at 30 centers. These include the university campus and locations in Comilla city.
Comilla University joined the Guccha system during the COVID-19 pandemic for the 2020-21 session. However, students and various groups wanted the university to conduct its own tests again. The university listened and decided to hold independent exams for the 2024-2025 session.
Professor Mohammad Anwar Hossain, the University Registrar, spoke today. He said, “We have made all efforts for a peaceful and smooth exam environment. Security forces and university staff are present at every center.” He added that holding their own exams fulfilled a long-standing wish of the students.
Despite some light rain this morning, students arrived on time. Various student groups and volunteers were seen helping the admission seekers.
Students came from different districts. Morium Akter from Noakhali said she arrived yesterday with her father. She stayed with relatives and hopes to get admitted. Mehedi Hasan came from Kishoreganj with his brother. He stayed in a hotel and feels well-prepared for the test.
The university previously announced how the merit list will be made. The admission test itself is worth 100 marks. Another 20 marks will come from the student’s SSC and HSC GPA scores. The total score for the merit list will be out of 120 marks.
The application period started on February 2nd and ended on February 28th.
With the ‘A’ and ‘C’ unit tests concluding today and the ‘B’ unit test next week, students will soon be waiting anxiously. The Comilla University Result 2025, announcing who gets admitted for the 2024-2025 session, will be published after the exams are graded.
